Feature & Follow Friday #28, #FF, Reading Habits

Feature & Follow

This is a blog hop, a way to find and follow new blogs,

This weeks question:  How have your reading habits changed in the past few years? Did you get interested in a new genre? Do you read more? Less? Why do you think your habits changed, if they did.

They’ve definitely changed for a few reasons.  One, I have three kids under four years old.  I just don’t have the same amount of time to read.  If I don’t like a book, I stop reading it.  I never would have done that before kids; I would have read it to the end to finish it.  And two, my mom just went through chemo and major surgery for bladder cancer, so I just can’t stand to read anything about cancer at the moment.  I feel like I’m seeing fictional cancer books everywhere lately (The Fault in Our Stars, is it?), but I just need a break from cancer related stuff.  (She is currently recovering from surgery, but cancer free, so yay.)

Have a great Friday!

  1. Sorry to hear about your mom’s cancer. I’m glad she is cancer free now. I know quite a few people who have experienced it. Fortunately they are all cancer survivors too.

Kids, yeah, I read a lot of children’s books when mine were little, but not so much for me. Now that they are older and can read for themselves, I’m getting back into what I like.

    Happy Friday

  2. I feel ya. I don’t have kids of my own, but I help take care of my niece in the evenings, and even that blocks out a lot of my reading time! Don’t know how you do any with a whole gaggle of kids. 😀 Congrats on your mom’s recovery. That’s amazing! And I totally understand not wanting to read books on the subject.
    😀 Happy Friday!

  3. Sorry to hear that your mom has been battling cancer. We went through the same thing when my children were little. It hurt Mom so much that she couldn’t be around the kids. 🙁 She has been cancer free for 10 years now. So glad your mom is cancer free. Now for many more years for both our moms!
