Review: Bonds of Flesh and Ice by Veronica Chastain

I love this series!

First off, this is the second book in a series, and it cannot be read as a standalone. So make sure to read book 1 first!

Lily and Troy continue on their quest to save Lily’s grandmother. Lily is fighting her attraction to Troy, because he is a Kelpie fae, and the fae really can’t be trusted. Or can they?

Although it’s fantasy, it’s easy to read and you won’t struggle with world building or names because it’s so well done.

The book does end on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to read book 3!

Review: Bonds of Silver and Mist by Veronica Chastain

So I read the first edition of this series. While I normally wouldn’t do a re-read, I really loved the first edition so I was curious. And honestly, I loved this book too.

When you can read a fantasy novel without struggling with names, imagery, myths, etc, it’s sooooo enjoyable, and that’s exactly how Chastain writes. You can easily pick up this book, start reading, and just get lost in the story.

Lily’s grandmother goes missing when she’s there visiting, and all of a sudden the fae and other supernatural beings become visible to Lily, and one, Troy, helps Lily try and find her grandmother.

It is Lily’s first time dealing with fae though, and she definitely makes some mistakes along the way. Which just makes the book that much more interesting.

So if you like fantasy, and the fae, give Bonds of Silver and Mist a read!

Review: The Way Out by Alan Gordon

Wow. If you are suffering from any kind of chronic pain or condition, whether it be IBS, GERD, back pain, pelvic pain, pain from an old injury that should be healed by now, etc, I highly recommend you check out this book.

I’ve always been an anxious person, and then when I was around 12 developed IBS. After my kids were born, I then also got GERD, and then a few years later, pelvic pain. It was the pelvic pain that wasn’t going away that led me to this book after some people who were also dealing with it got better. Just when reading it, I felt symptoms get better. And a lot of what Gordon says just makes a lot of sense. Plus, it’s backed up by studies and many success stories too.

And no, this book doesn’t mean that pain is all in your head. Your pain is absolutely real. But this is a way to teach your brain to turn it off, and that you are safe. It’s a way to change the pathways in your brain, so the pain isn’t triggered anymore.

Give it a try and feel better! Honestly, you have nothing to lose.
