Review: Bonds of Flesh and Ice by Veronica Chastain

I love this series!

First off, this is the second book in a series, and it cannot be read as a standalone. So make sure to read book 1 first!

Lily and Troy continue on their quest to save Lily’s grandmother. Lily is fighting her attraction to Troy, because he is a Kelpie fae, and the fae really can’t be trusted. Or can they?

Although it’s fantasy, it’s easy to read and you won’t struggle with world building or names because it’s so well done.

The book does end on a cliffhanger, and I can’t wait to read book 3!

Review: Bonds of Silver and Mist by Veronica Chastain

So I read the first edition of this series. While I normally wouldn’t do a re-read, I really loved the first edition so I was curious. And honestly, I loved this book too.

When you can read a fantasy novel without struggling with names, imagery, myths, etc, it’s sooooo enjoyable, and that’s exactly how Chastain writes. You can easily pick up this book, start reading, and just get lost in the story.

Lily’s grandmother goes missing when she’s there visiting, and all of a sudden the fae and other supernatural beings become visible to Lily, and one, Troy, helps Lily try and find her grandmother.

It is Lily’s first time dealing with fae though, and she definitely makes some mistakes along the way. Which just makes the book that much more interesting.

So if you like fantasy, and the fae, give Bonds of Silver and Mist a read!

Book Review: Eight Nights at Sea by Britt DeLaney

Wow! This is my first book by Britt DeLaney and I really enjoyed it. I’m trying to read all my summery and sea adventure books quick before the fall gets here. DeLaney has talent; she has the ability to transport you to the story she laid out immediately when reading. I loved all the surprises along the way of Rina and Zephyr’s journey. I really appreciate the fact that I had no idea where the story was going and what was going to happen either. The book will keep you entertained and on your toes. So if you like sea-faring, fantasy romance, give this one a try!
